I remembered that I haven't showed you my latest finished quilt. I actually started this one last year as a Christmas present for my darling Mummy, but, having struck some technical hitches, it lurked on the periphery of every activity in my workroom until I finally got my act together. It is a machine quilted top, with the backing fabric tied. I had some issues with the machine quilting being messy on the back due to some tension problems, so I needed to disguise this without creating more problems by sewing through from the back, creating a mess on the quilted top. I think my machine could use a bit of a service after coming through the last couple of shaky, quaky years. By the way, we had a goodie in the night that woke me up with a jolt. I wasn't remotely alarmed.
Sorry, not the best photo, but you can see the size. It is a generous lap quilt, which is my favourite size to work in because it can be easily machine quilted by my inexperienced hand, and binding is not a hideous chore. Plus lap quilts are wonderful to snuggle under on the couch, or to take outside for a lie down.
